Jackson Crossroads Retail Development

Jackson Crossroads is the new retail/commercial development park currently owned by the Jackson Economic Development Corporation. The new 35-acre development located just south of I-90 at the corner of County Road 38 (Industrial Parkway) and Highway 71 in Jackson.

The City of Jackson has removed their public works buildings from the property and will continue to install the necessary infrastructure for commercial use. The City will install a hard-surface street, curb and gutter, water, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, and a detention pond in the development.

The Jackson Crossroads development includes a commitment by Jeff Greischar, owner of Tech Builders in Fairmont, to build a 5,000 sq. ft. retail/commercial business on land he owns that is adjacent to the JEDC property.

The development is located near many of the large industrial employers in Jackson including AGCO, TSE and HitchDoc. Each year about 2,900 workers drive into the county many of them working along Industrial Parkway. Other large employers in Jackson include the FCA Cooperative, Erickson Trucks N Parts, Sunshine Foods, the Good Samaritan Society, the JCC School District and Sanford Hospital and Clinic. Jackson County has the tenth highest concentration of manufacturing employment of the 87 counties in the state. The labor force in Jackson County continues to grow with an average of 7,074 available workers in 2010 which was 929 more workers than it had in 2000. This growth was nearly three times faster than the state of Minnesota as a whole

Incentives are available for those assisting in the recruitment process. Anyone who assists in finding a new retail business that creates two or more full-time jobs in Jackson would receive a $1000 reward for doing so. Another program offers $5000 to anyone who helps in finding a new business or industry that creates 10 or more jobs.

Additional development in the area includes a new 48-unit town-home project that will be located to the south of Jackson Crossroads.
